Lotus Cleansing Gel
Description

Lotus Light Cream is my handmade face and body cream for dry, tight or changing skin, with blackcurrant seed oil, golden jojoba oil and cocoa butter, scented with clary sage, bergamot, ylang ylang, sweet orange and Roman chamomile. One of my Autumn Rituals.

This is the cream I want on my skin when the weather turns - nourishing enough for hands and legs once the heating goes on and everything starts to feel a bit tight. I created Lotus in autumn 2024, while I was planning my trip to Bali - renewal, from the ground up, like the lotus flower blooming clean out of the mud. It's my favourite for my own skin.

It's whipped and light, absorbs quickly, and isn't sticky or greasy - light enough for your face under make-up, nourishing enough for hands, legs and feet.

Made for you if...

  • your skin feels drier, tighter or more changeable than it used to
  • you love a grounding, softly floral scent
  • you want one cream for face, body, hands and feet
  • you don't like the feel of heavy, greasy creams

Not quite you? Try Cloud (unscented, for sensitive or very dry skin), Olla (normal to dry, dull skin) or Peach Tea (normal to combination, suitable in pregnancy). Want the full ritual? Pair it with Lotus Deo Cream and Lotus Cleansing Gel. Still deciding? Start with the 10g trial tin.

At a glance: for dry skin · grounding citrus floral scent · face and body · 10g trial, 50g or 150g · vegan, cruelty free, palm oil free · plastic free aluminium tin · handmade by me in small batches in Devon

Ingredients and what they do
  • Blackcurrant seed oil - rich in omega fatty acids, it helps skin feel soft and comfortable
  • Golden jojoba oil - very close to skin's own oils, so it sinks in without feeling heavy
  • Cocoa butter - rich and softening, for skin that feels tight or dry
  • Clary sage, bergamot, ylang ylang, sweet orange and Roman chamomile essential oils - the Lotus scent

Because it's water based, it contains a gentle preservative to keep it safe to use. Like every other ingredient, it's listed below - nothing hidden.

Full ingredients (INCI): Aqua (Water), Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate

Essential oils contain: Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Citronellol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool

How to use
  1. Scoop a small amount out of the tin with clean, dry fingers.
  2. Warm it between your fingertips and smooth it over your face and neck.
  3. Take a moment - cover your face with your hands, breathe in, breathe out.
  4. Use what's left on hands, cuticles, elbows, legs or feet - anywhere that feels dry.

Use it morning and night. It sits nicely under make-up.

How long does a tin last? A 50g tin used just on your face lasts around 1-2 months. Used all over it goes faster, so the 150g tin is the one for all-over use and families.

Once opened: safe to use for 12 months, and at its freshest within 3-6 months. Store somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight.

Suitability
  • Made for dry, tight or changing skin
  • Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding - choose Cloud, Peach Tea or Flora Light Cream instead
  • Scented with pure essential oils - no synthetic fragrance

As with any new skincare, patch test first and avoid broken skin.
