Description

Lotus Light Oil is my handmade multipurpose oil for face, body and hair - light, fast-absorbing and made for skin that starts asking for more as the weather turns. It's my Miracle Light Oil, in the Lotus blend.

This is the hardest-working bottle I make. One light, fast-absorbing oil for face, body and hair - wet or dry, to cleanse or to moisturise. As the weather turns and skin starts asking for a bit more, it's the one I reach for after a bath, on damp legs, or worked through the ends of my hair before I wash it.

Argan, blackcurrant seed and apricot kernel oils bring the richness. Grape seed and fractionated coconut oil keep it light, so it sinks in rather than sitting on top.

Scented with my Lotus blend - clary sage, bergamot, ylang ylang, sweet orange and Roman chamomile. Fresh citrus-floral to start, then earthy, sweet and calm.

Lotus is about renewal - the flower that rises out of muddy water and blooms anyway. Autumn always feels like the right time for it.

Made for you if...

  • you want one oil for face, body, hair, nails and cuticles
  • your skin feels dry or tight once the heating goes on
  • you'd like to try oil cleansing, or want a gentle make-up remover
  • you want a body oil that sinks in rather than sitting on top
  • you love a citrus-floral scent with an earthy, calm finish
  • you want fewer products in your bathroom

Not quite you? Pregnant, breastfeeding or would rather a different scent? Try Miracle Light Oil - the same light, multipurpose oil, suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For a rich cream instead of an oil, try Lotus Light Cream.

At a glance: Multipurpose oil · Face, body and hair · Dry, mature and everyday skin · Lotus citrus-floral scent · 100ml · Reusable locking pump or aluminium cap · Vegan · Plastic free · Handmade in Devon

Ingredients and what they do
  • Argan oil - nourishing and silky, for face, body and hair
  • Blackcurrant seed oil - rich in omega fatty acids, it helps skin feel soft and comfortable
  • Apricot kernel oil - light and full of vitamin E
  • Grape seed and fractionated coconut oils (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) - keep the texture light and fast absorbing
  • Tocopherol (vitamin E) - helps protect the oils from going off
  • Lotus essential oil blend - clary sage, bergamot, ylang ylang, sweet orange and Roman chamomile

Full ingredients (INCI): Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil

How to use
  • Face moisturiser - press 2-3 drops into clean, slightly damp skin
  • Cleanser and make-up remover - massage into dry skin, then lift away with a warm flannel
  • Body oil - smooth over damp skin straight after a bath or shower
  • Bath oil - a few pumps under running water
  • Hair oil - work through lengths and ends before shampooing
  • Nails and cuticles - one drop, massaged in

Sizes: 100ml aluminium bottle with a reusable pump or aluminium cap. The pump locks with a twist of the spout, so it travels without leaking. Keep your pump and order the cap closure next time to cut waste further.

Storage: somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight.

Suitability

Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, because the Lotus blend contains clary sage - choose Miracle Light Oil instead. Patch test before first use if your skin is sensitive, as it contains essential oils. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Take care in the bath - oil can make it slippery. Contains apricot kernel oil - please check with your GP or pharmacist first if you have a nut allergy.

Plastic free, vegan, cruelty free and palm oil free. Handmade by me, in small batches, in my Devon studio.

Questions

Will an oil make my face greasy?
Not if you use a little. Press 2-3 drops into slightly damp skin and it sinks in. Grape seed and fractionated coconut oil keep it light.

Can I use it on my hair?
Yes. Work a little through your lengths and ends before you shampoo, or smooth a drop over dry ends.

Lotus or Miracle Light Oil?
They're the same light, multipurpose oil with a different scent. Lotus is my autumn blend. Miracle is in my range all year, and it's the one to choose during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Can I use it during pregnancy?
No - the Lotus blend contains clary sage. Choose Miracle Light Oil instead.
