Description

Reef Cleansing Gel is a natural oil-to-milk cleanser that melts away make-up, SPF and waterproof mascara, then rinses clean with water - never tight, never stripped. Made for oily, combination and everyday skin, all year round.

It starts as a silky, lightweight oil-gel that glides over your skin, melting away make-up, SPF and the day. Add a splash of warm water and it turns into a soft, milky cream that rinses clean.

It's light and fresh, made with watermelon seed oil, blackcurrant seed oil and apricot kernel oil, plus a little fruit extract. Lovely after long days, sea swims and a full face of SPF - and brilliant on stubborn face paint and felt-tip too, if you have little ones.

Scented with my Reef blend - lime, grapefruit and bergamot, rounded with rosemary and rose geranium. Bright, clean and properly awake.

Reef started life as my summer collection, but this cleanser was always here to stay, all year round.

Ingredients and what they do

• Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate - the emulsifier that turns the oil into a milk when you add water, so it rinses clean
• Watermelon seed oil - a light, silky oil that leaves skin feeling soft without heaviness
• Blackcurrant seed oil - rich in omega fatty acids, it helps skin feel soft and comfortable
• Apricot kernel and fractionated coconut oils (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) - the light, slippy base that melts make-up and SPF
• Castor oil - helps lift away stubborn make-up
• Fruit extracts - bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon
• Reef essential oil blend - lime, grapefruit, bergamot, rosemary and rose geranium
• Tocopherol (vitamin E) - helps protect the oils from going off
• Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol - the preservative, there because the formula contains water and fruit extracts

How to use

1. Massage 2-3 pumps into dry skin, working gently over make-up and SPF.
2. If you have time, leave it on for 5-10 minutes as a pre-cleanse treat.
3. Add a splash of warm water and massage again - it turns to a soft, creamy milk.
4. Rinse thoroughly, or lift away with a warm flannel.
5. Pat dry and follow with a Light Cream or Light Oil.

Tip: it works wonders on stubborn face paint and pen - especially useful for little ones.

Sizes: 100g aluminium bottle with a reusable pump or an aluminium cap, or a 10g trial tin - perfect for holidays and gym bags. Keep your pump and order the cap closure next time to cut waste further.

Storage: somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight.

Suitability

Suitable for all skin types. Suitable for children aged 2+. Suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Patch test before first use if your skin is sensitive, as it contains fruit extracts and essential oils. Contains apricot kernel oil - please check with your GP or pharmacist first if you have a nut allergy.

Plastic free, vegan, cruelty free and palm oil free. Handmade by me, in small batches, in my Devon studio.

Questions

Will an oil cleanser make oily skin oilier?
Oil lifts oil. It dissolves make-up, SPF and the day, then turns to a milk with water and rinses away, so it doesn't sit on your skin. It's the cleanser I point oily and combination skin towards.

Does it take off waterproof mascara?
Yes. Keep your eyes closed, massage gently and rinse well with warm water or a flannel. Avoid getting it in your eyes.

Reef or Lotus Cleansing Gel?
Reef for oily, combination and everyday skin - bright, citrus-fresh and light. Lotus for dry, mature or everyday skin - softer and richer. Both are here to stay.

Can my teenager use it?
Yes. It's suitable for all skin types and children aged 2+, so it makes a lovely, simple first cleanser.

Can I use it during pregnancy?
Yes, it's suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
